Project Name: Eli Lilly
Eli Lilly’s goal was to create a multi-functional cafeteria to provide not only an enjoyable dining facility but also a sophisticated audio-visual presentation centre for corporate, client and employee needs. Asked to provide "value engineering" post tender, Cloke's primary goal during this exercise was to maintain the architect's design intent whilst providing the required "value engineering" to insure the client's budgetary constraints were met. The post tender "value engineering" exercise provided the client with a 12% cost savings on a sizeable initial budget. This exercise, coupled with a competitive bid led to Cloke-Kirby Construction being awarded the project. The work was a complicated phasing and scheduling challenge that began in August of 2007 requiring portions of the existing cafetaria to remain operational at all times.
